After experimenting w/ the oven in order to warm some croissants, I got ready to go to the farmer's market w/ our local hosts Linda and Olivia. Mary Grace was going to stay behind because Air France had called and said they'd be delivering our luggage between 10 and noon. However, when Linda and Olivia arrived, THEY had our luggage. The delivery person had called them to say he was at the local post office (gotta love the small village) and needed directions. So, they just met him there and brought the luggage to us! Perfect timing as had they left any earlier they would have missed the delivery guy and we may have had trouble directing him here w/ our French/Spanish/English combo "we" have been using.
So, since our bags were safely in hand, we both went to the market. I took one quick pic on the way out of town because I was having too much fun in the market to take pics during our shopping. However, we left w/ fresh strawberries, white asparagus, fresh cheeses, bread, apples, olives, dried fruit, carrots, and blue garlic. Quite a nice spread that we then used to make a nice lunch once we arrived back home. We also stopped at a local flea market that seemed more like a city-wide garage sale to me--lots of individual vendors selling many used treasures (glassware, clothes, DVDs, toys).
After lunch and naps, we both took showers w/ our OWN toiletries we had so missed the day before. After this refreshing nap/shower time, we decided to explore the city. Below are some photos of our stroll.
Then, it was time for another rest back at the house before strolling back out for a 4 course meal at a local restaurant. The food was OK, but it was nice to have someone else prepare the meal for us and to know we didn't have to do any dishes. :) We both had a nice salad w/ white asparagus and salmon on top, MG had some sort of poultry cooked in a red wine sauce w/ potatoes and I had a steak that came w/ french fries. Then came some yummy cheeses and then dessert--chocolate cake w/ cream sauce and a creme brulee.

I love cheese! And chocolate! Good news about your luggage! I know you were super ready to have that back! What is blue garlic??
Great pictures. You made me hungry describing today's bounty, think I gained 5 pounds. Love your hairdo, Alison. So glad you got your luggage, so now you can take more pictures for us stuck-in-the-states folks. Amuse-toi en France!
I'm so enjoying reading about your travels thus far! Glad you got your luggage and are settling in (the food sounds amazing). Say hello to MG for me!
