All I wanted was a chocolate croissant...

Not much to report today, but I wanted to let you all know what we DID do. :)

Woke up this morning and decided to walk down to the local patisserie for chocolate croissants. It was probably a good 2 km walk down to the patisserie, but MG and I were up for a walk. Well, when we arrived we realized they were closed on Mondays (as many restaurants are here in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie). SO, we hiked all the way back up the hill and into the village in hopes of finding food. Now, I had a light snack before I left the house, but a this point I was hungry and angry Alison was coming out. Poor Mary Grace! We ended up finding a little cafe that was open at the top of the hill, but they seemed to only be serving drinks. So, Mary Grace had a coffee and I had a sprite. After what seemed like forever, we got our bill and tried to find a place with food. WELL, all worked out because we found this great little place w/ crepes and we split two crepes: one with Nutella and one w/ Nutella, banana, and almonds. DELICIOUS! :)

After all of that chaos it was about 12:30. We decided to head to the cave known as Pech Merle nearby to check out the beautiful cave and its prehistoric paintings. It was quite interesting and a beautiful cave (thought of you Shelee). We couldn't take pics, but here is a link to their website. We had a little picnic on site and then headed home.

I did a little Insanity workout while Mary Grace did some reading. Then, we cooked our own dinner (since places seemed to be closed on Mondays). Now it's time for sleep. One more day of rest tomorrow before the real adventures start. :) Thanks for reading and commenting. Perhaps tomorrow I'll get that chocolate croissant.

Thanks for including me so I can read the blog! I am drooling reading about the food you didn't get, let alone the food you do get. I request more photos!

Not "Angry Alison"! Glad you FINALLY got some food, as you may have gone off the deep end! Cave paintings sound interesting. Anxious to see what adventures you had today.

Scary to be with Angry Alison in a foreign country. I love caves so much...I was just telling Brian that I still want to be a cave tour guide when I retire from teaching. He thinks I'm crazy.
