Day Two: Anchorage

After a not so good night's rest for me (I guess I was too pumped up to see Janie), Jeff and I headed to downtown Anchorage.

We first checked out the Ulu factory....not too exciting. Then, we thought we might see some salmon at the Ship Creek Viewing area. Wrong! No salmon for us.

Then, we went downtown and rented some bikes and headed out on an 8 mile (round trip) bike ride down the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. I hadn't been on a bike in a while, but w/ Jeff's help I figured it out. We had a nice time and saw lots of great views of mountains and water.

We had lunch at Simon and Seafort's...Jeff had some fresh tasting fish and chips and I had a Hot King Crab sandwich. It was pretty good.

We also checked out a little tourist shop/park and then I took a nice nap. Next up: dinner w/ Jason and Janie at the Moose's Tooth. More tomorrow...

Interesting fact, Mud Flats claim the lives of more Alaskanites a year than bears. Jeff, you got lucky and I wouldn't so blatantly taunt them next time.

Tread lightly friends, for in this country, everything is to be feared.

We never made it to Moose's Tooth, but heard all about it. Have you seen a real moose yet?
